This is What I Get for Complaining Nothing Ever Happens to Us

SO.... the Trilogy of Crap continues. In what I hope is our last disaster of the month, I managed to total my car in a lovely wreck.

In a nutshell - I was turning left on green, he ran a red, and knocked me into another car. (Of COURSE it was a giant truck!) I felt bad for the other car - he had 'Jsut Married' written all over it. Way to start out!

I am ok, I was just covered in cuts and bruises, and was sore for a few days. People at the office likened my movements to Lurch from the Munsters. I think the best part of the whole thing was when my own hubcap flew off my car and somehow ended up coming inside the car and hitting me in the head.

So now we are a one car household, which is quite awful. But we are managing, trying to make the best of it, if that is possible.

Three cheers for insurance! Between the surgery and this, David and I racked up around $40,000 in bills this month.....

PASS THIS WEBSITE ON TO 5 FRIENDS OR IN 3 DAYS YOU WILL SUFFER THE SAME FATE! THIS CHAIN HASN'T BEEN BROKEN SINCE 426 BC! WHICH IS AMAZING, SINCE COMPUTERS WEREN'T AROUND THEN!

Man, I really hate those e-mails, although it feels like this has been the payback for deleting so many of them.

Um, What?

Yay! We survived the Move from Hell, which included power outages, 1 am moving, and let's not forget the driving rain.

David started feeling a little bad a few days later; and after several MORE days, finally he decided that the emergency room was the place for him. We went in at 6 pm on Thursday, to be admitted to the general insanity of that hospital wing. Hours later (naturally) the doctor checked out David, and after assuring us that nothing was probably wrong, decided to run some tests. Imagine our surprise around midnight when she came back and told us David's appendix had apparently burst. (!) So then there was the Doctor Huddle, as they tried to figure out what the heck to do with David. So while we waited anxiously for them to decide on surgery or no, the hours passed......

.... and as we found out later, that was because our resident guy decided to go upstairs and take a nap! I was a bit pissed, but to tired to strangle him when he happily announced this to us at 3 am. To pass the time, we would try to rope in passing doctors to explain anything to us by looking extremely pitiful and wretched. The outcome of this was mixed, as it included one doctor drawing out the possible surgery on our bed sheets, and me pacing the halls like a crazy woman attempting to grab any doctor-like person and running into someone from High School.

In the end, David finally got moved to a real room, and I went home to get a couple hours' sleep before work the next day. Emily (who is in the running for sainthood, in my book) Offered me a room at her house (our place is 40 minutes away from the hospital), took care of our dog, and just hung out with me as I attempted not to be girly and freak out that someone was first: a) telling me that they were going to give him antibiotics and delay surgery for 6 weeks (!) and eventually b) cutting open my husband. We were actually at dinner when the surgeon called to tell me that David had come out of surgery. I felt a little guilty about that, but no worries as he did not end up back in his room for another 3 hours, as John and Amber witnessed, to their detriment. Thanks for braving the hospital!

David is now doing fine, and we want to thank everyone for their care and concern!

And FYI, it ended up his appendix hadn’t burst yet after all, but it was hiding behind other organs. Whatever, it is out now. Thanks Baylor!

Moving......SUCKS

Well, it has been a while, mainly since nothing really had been going on with us. However, that has all changed. We are leaving our first place together, to move in with my dad, which I am sure he is thrilled about. We are very sad to leave, because I had packing and moving, but also because we really did love our little apartment - even the tiny kitchen.

But saddest of all, is that our adorable dog is not going to be able to come with us at the moment - David's mom is selflessly taking care of her for a few months for us. She loves it there, so that is a comfort to us, at least. At least you all are going to get a break from dog pictures!

Many amazing thanks to Emily, who, as David put it, "Is the nicest, most giving person on Earth."

It is weird being back at dad’s. I feel like I should call up the old high school gang to come hang out in the game room.
