Day 6 - Bears. Beets. Battlestar de Cocktails

Today was our last day in Tofino - at least it wasn't pouring rain today.

Although there was a mild mental breakdown had by Courtney, bc we did not plan well and almost didn't make it on one of the nature tours and it was our last day here.

Before we did anything, we all wandered through the botanical gardens for a few hours.
Where we stayed - they we obsessed with Darwin. There was even a creepy wall mural/portrait of him at the check-in area.

View of the lodge

Cafe and veggie gardens

Inside the cafe.  They had lots of fun books, and Paul attempted to teach me chess.
Disaster averted, there was some space on one of the bear-watching tours.  We agonized for along time about taking a risk and trying to see some orcas, but they are pretty rare this time of year, so...bears.

Cool window-boat. We could all see out great

She's all happy now
We rode through the mist and many islands that dotted the area, viewing the wildlife through the quiet damp.

But eventually.....
Bears.

Hi Mr. Bear!

We seriously took like maybe 300 pictures of this guy.

We see you, bear!

He was eventually run off by this guy, right here.

Seals, basking on the rocks

Yay, wildlife!

I think we all fell asleep on the way back right after this was taken.  It was peaceful, ok!?
Love us some bears
But not as much as Courtney

We had been passing this fried fish local shack place that we really wanted to try before we left... something got into David and he ordered this HUGE basket that had a few of everything. Literally. Please not that piece of fish is like the size of David's head. Paul actually refrained from eating, bc he knew we would be going back to Modern Cafe that night. I had never actually witnessed this happening before.

Paul and I, dutifully being model in one of Court's pictures. David, meanwhile, does his best in the background to photo-bomb it.

After this we headed back down towards the US for our return part of the trip, on our way to Vancouver.  We stopped in the same town, and stayed here this time.

Where we stayed

Heck yes you know we went back here to eat!  We ordered a lot more this time, too.

MMMM, delicious. Read it and drool, people

Biggest. Sushi. Roll. Ever.

The view outside our window. I have no idea if this is at night, or at the ass-crack of dawn, which is when we had to get up to catch yet another ferry.
